For aviation businesses, the value of membership is closely tied to connection. Access to timely information, relevant resources, and meaningful opportunities depends in large part on whether the right people within an organization are receiving them.
NATA’s first Member-to-Member message brings that point into focus through the perspective of long-time member and Maintenance Committee Chair Phil Stearns of Stevens Aerospace and Defense Systems, LLC. In a brief message to fellow members, Stearns highlights a practical but often overlooked priority: keeping company contact information complete and current so teams can fully benefit from the association’s offerings.
Accurate membership records help ensure that important updates reach the individuals best positioned to act on them. Safety resources, regulatory developments, industry insights, event announcements, and committee engagement opportunities carry the greatest value when delivered to the operational leaders, maintenance professionals, safety personnel, government affairs representatives, finance staff, and other team members responsible for supporting company priorities.
An up-to-date contact list also strengthens the overall value of membership across the organization. Better visibility into available benefits, broader participation in NATA programs and events, and stronger alignment with the issues shaping business aviation all begin with accurate account information.
For member companies needing to make updates, the process is relatively simple. A company’s primary or billing contact may add and update contacts directly through the NATA portal. After logging in, administrators can use the Add Company Contacts tab to review current records, edit basic information, and add new team members. Anyone who does not see that tab likely does not yet have administrator access and may contact membership@nata.aero for assistance.
Members should also keep in mind that adding a contact to a company account does not automatically create a portal login for that individual. Each staff member must create a login using the same email address associated with the contact record so the system can properly sync the information.
The NATA portal also serves as a broader hub for managing company information, memberships, event registrations, billing records, subscriptions, and other account details. For company administrators, portal access supports day-to-day account management while helping ensure organizational records remain accurate and current.
As NATA continues expanding its work in advocacy, training, outreach, and member engagement, strong lines of communication within member companies remain essential. Maintaining a current contact list may appear administrative on the surface, but the impact is far more meaningful. Better information flow supports stronger participation, greater awareness, and a fuller return on membership across the organization.
NATA extends its appreciation to Phil Stearns for his continued leadership, his support of the Maintenance Committee, and his participation in this important member-to-member effort.
